What lessons have you learned so far in your life?

Northfield Rd. Watertown, CT Feb '86

Here are mine-

Take nothing for granted.

Each day is a gift.

Don't ever be afraid.

In the end, all that matters is love and kindness.

Please tell the people you love, how much you love them - every day. Try not to forget, even if you are sad.

Humor goes a long way.

Don't judge others - you have no idea what unjust wars they may be struggling with.

Do whatever makes you happy.

Always remember to try, no matter how hard.

I will miss Joe every day I am alive for the rest of my life.

And, always remember to run towards the fire.

Joe, friends Jamestown, RI Jul '12

Angels walk on earth.
I know their names and recognize their faces.
Some are petite and graceful;
others are strong and able to lift and carry.
I've learned that no one has to walk in my shoes to know my experience.
I need someone to stand, shoulder to shoulder, and hold me up when I can hardly stand
bear witness.

It takes a village to raise a child,
and, a village to help one die.
Someone once said to me, "What's it all matter?"
as if nothing does.
“Love matters!” is what I shout from the mountaintop.
