On the road...

It's 4:40 am in sunny CA. Yesterday, Joe, Pete and I drove through Yosemite. Incredible views of El Capitan and Half-Dome! It's a great break. (If, we can put up with Pete's (bad) jokes...) We are staying at a place called Chateau du Sureau in Oakhurst. Another day in this area and heading to Big Sur on Sunday afternoon to Ventana Inn. We will end up in San Fran on Tues and be back to CT late on July 4th. Look for cool pics!

As many of you know, Joe was at Sloane in NYC on Tues 6/26. Joe's treatment will begin at Sloane on Tuesday, July 10th. Out-patient, once a week for 2 weeks. Then, a week off.

Joe will be in Puerto Rico - July 6 thru July 9. Nice!

Joe also told me how much he appreciates all the messages. Thanks for all the love and support. And, please let us know what's happening in your lives. We care.

It is so nice to think of you out there. At least you are missing the heatwave. I hope you have a great time, and that Joe enjoys PR.

Love, Ray

Puerto Rico! Can't wait man. It's gonna be a blast! Glad to see you are traveling out in Cali -- its beautiful. It's miserable hot back here in the East. It actually hit 105+ in DC on Friday. Ridic. Take care bother.

hey there!

Love the new forum. Tell Joe he should totally rent Rum Diaries before heading off to PR. It is about a 1960s' journalist 'living the life' in PR when he meets a woman and comes across some political trouble. It stars Johnny Depp (and who doesn't like Johnny movies..) and a new hollywood beauty - Amber Heard. Its very entertaining and might give Joe a different outlook on PR.

Well love you all and you should get the care package from London by the time everyone is back - July 10th.

Doreen, thank you for the update on Sloane. That's such good news to know Joe has been accepted to the program.

California is such a beautiful place, it's nice to think of you getting a bit of a break.

Puerto Rico is going to awesome for Joe too.

Heat waves are hitting us all but at least you are getting some nice Ocean Breezes...

Loving you all..

You'll love Big Sur! I was stationed out in Monterey for the language school. One of the most beautiful places on the planet!!

Make sure you go down 17-mile drive and have breakfast in Monterey at this place called First Awakenings!! Highly recommend it.

When you get to San Fran, give Jimmy a call if you have the time. I'm sure he'd love to hear from you. He's up in Reno.

I'm out in AZ visiting my mom. I had my first encounter with a rattlesnake. Came within 6 inches of that sucker. He was coiled an ready to strike! YIKES!!

Hope you have an amazing time!! Love you:)

Joe, I am a friend of your beautiful sister Lis... this San Francisco Bay Area family—Lois, Gary, Aislinn, Erin, and Bren—are with you in spirit, sending you strong, healing thoughts and prayers. We've enclosed one of our favorite poems for you, by Czeslaw Milosz.

With you,

Gift

A day so happy.
Fog lifted early, I worked in the garden.
Hummingbirds were stopping over honeysuckle flowers
There was no thing on earth I wanted to possess.
I knew no one worth my envying him.
Whatever evil I had suffered, I forgot.
To think that once I was the same man did not embarrass me.
In my body I felt no pain.
When straightening up, I saw the blue sea and sails.
